Visitor reviews
Why it matters: you hear service issues early, can curate what appears online, and show social proof only for reviews you approve.
Marketing → Visitor Reviews lists feedback sent from QR menu. Each entry has food, service, and atmosphere ratings, an optional comment, and the guest’s Google profile basics.
Workers need the Visitor Reviews permission. The menu item shows a badge with how many reviews are still marked new, if any.

How to open
- Open the sidebar.
- Under Marketing, choose Visitor Reviews.
Turn on guest submissions
In Settings → QR Menu, enable Visitor Reviews under Available features, then Save changes. While off, guests cannot start a review, and the public reviews page in the QR site stays empty of new listings.
See QR menu features for context next to booking and QR ordering settings.
Review list
The grid is paginated with the newest entries first (sorted by date).
- Rows that are still new show a warning-style status icon so you can spot unchecked feedback quickly.
- Columns include date and time, user name, a compact stars preview, comment (truncated), and an action to open the detail view (speech icon or row click).
Opening a row loads read-only ratings for dishes, service, atmosphere, plus name, optional phone and email when present, avatar, full comment, and moderation controls described below.
Approve for the public reviews page
Guest submissions are saved as new. The public guest reviews page in the QR menu only lists reviews where Show for visitors is on, ordered by date.
After you review the text:
- Turn on Show for visitors if this feedback should appear on the guest reviews page.
- Press Done.
Saving applies your Show for visitors choice and clears the new flag—so the badge count drops and the row loses the status icon even if you leave the switch off.
Reviews you never mark public stay visible only to staff in the admin list.
Guest flow on the QR site
When Visitor Reviews is enabled on the venue:
- On the QR home page, a button leads either to the reviews page (if there is at least one public review) or opens the leave review dialog directly when the public list is still empty.
- On the reviews page, guests see published cards (public reviews only) and can open Leave review to submit another entry.
Submitting uses Google sign-in (popup). The saved review stores name, photo, phone, and email from the Google account together with the ratings and comment. The send action stays disabled until the guest adds at least one star rating or a comment.
After a successful send, guests see a thank-you state and can dismiss the dialog.
Common issues
- Menu item missing — grant Visitor Reviews under Workers and access.
- Guests see no way to leave feedback — enable Visitor Reviews on QR menu features and save; republish / rescan the QR link if you cache the menu.
- Submission works but nothing appears on the public reviews page — newly created reviews are not visible to guests until you enable Show for visitors and save in the admin modal.
- Badge never clears — open each new row and press Done after deciding on publication; leaving the switch off still clears the new flag.
